The Working in Wax Exhibit at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, CA — in which I have three paintings displayed — continues through June 21, 2009, so you can still catch it if you are in the Northern California area.  There’s a Culture + Cocktails Reception for “Working in Wax” on June 18, 6:00—8:00 p.m.

I was not able to make it to the show, but two other artists in the show have posted pictures of the opening of this gorgeous and amazing art exhibit.

Allyson Sanburn Malek posted these photos of the May 6, 2009 Working in Wax opening (posted on Facebook – you must belong to Facebook to view).

Or you can view photos of the opening reception by Margo Mullen at her blog, StudioMargo.com.

  1. Too bad you couldn't make it to this show- It was magnificent! It was also really fun to listen to and/or talk to some of the artists that I've admired for years, and to see all of the work close up. I couldn't help but walk around, deconstructing paintings in my mind, thinking of possibilities for my own work, being influenced and inspired. And you could tell, everyone else was doing the same thing, asking each other techincal questions, etc. Fun.

  2. Thanks, Lisa…ooh, sounds like I really missed a great show. I've seen quite a few pictures from the show, and it was very impressive. Glad you made it.
